The film became more popular
Story
Art the Clown unleashes chaos upon the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully fall asleep on Christmas Eve. Director Damien Leone said that several major studios expressed interest in financing the film based on the surprise success of Terrifier 2 (2022), even without a completed script, but he turned down all offers because he was certain they would never let him shoot the opening scene alone, which he calls “very controversial.” Leone commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his portrayal of horror and gore is because he independently finances his films, creates all the special effects himself to keep costs down, and doesn’t have any major studios hot on his heels. Mia mentions that it will soon be the 5th anniversary of the original massacre, but it took place on Halloween and the film is set on Christmas Day 5 years later, so the anniversary was only 2 months ago.
An uncensored version of the film exists that runs 2 hours and 25 minutes with 5 additional scenes

But other than that?
Overlong, too chaotic, and more like a collection of random ideas duct-taped together. Sure, the practical gore is fine. It’s a white-hot mess.
Sadly the only thing that’s accepted is blood
The plot is nonexistent, Sienna Shaw’s messianic subplot feels forced, and continuity takes a backseat to shock value. It’s like Leone is trying to ride the wave of the series’ success, throwing every half-baked idea at the screen, hoping something will stick. Art delivers another night of dismemberment, but in terms of a coherent story?
Don’t bother looking for it here
It’s not a horror movie, it’s a lazy bloodbath that thinks shock is a substitute for story. Art the Clown, Pennywise, and Killer Klowns are just a few of the comical creatures that send chills down our spines. Check out the scariest clowns to ever grace the screen.
