Amber, a happiness agent, travels the Bhutanese Himalayas, researching human happiness. She seeks fulfillment on a remote mountain expedition. A very interesting article about the different ways in which Bhutanese people approach happiness. Considering the country’s strong brand based on the concept of “happiness”, this documentary introduces a surprisingly diverse narrative to the topic. I especially liked that some of the most important sentences consist of “simple” words. “everyday” People from Bhutan prove that happiness can have its source in spiritual values, not material ones. At the same time, through the stories of the participants, the film addresses the most pressing issues of the country (e.g. emigration or alcohol abuse). I highly recommend this documentary by Dorota and Arūnas: food for people with open minds.
