Story
Two Harkonnen sisters fight against the forces that threaten the future of humanity and found a legendary sect that would become known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopia, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. Anderson. A prequel to the original Dune, it tells how the Sisterhood of Rossak became the Bene Gesserit.
So here it is
The incident with Valya Harkonnen using her voice comes from one titled “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors. Mentioned in Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) by AniMat. I wanted to be brief and to the point, but I felt compelled to elaborate. There was a time when writers knew how to weave exposition into the narrative without it feeling forced or artificial.
They move the story along, but they’re forgotten
I understand that this is the first episode, but do they have to explain everything like it’s not common knowledge. Watson (Valya), Mark Strong (Emperor), Travis Fimmel (Hart), and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (Princess) all give good performances. I feel like the show is in good hands. The rest of the characters didn’t really interest me.
They did a wonderful job visually
I guess we’ll see how it develops. I had a hard time focusing on the first episode. It felt like it was part of a whole that couldn’t be broken up. I’ll wait for the full season before watching more episodes.
The art department should win awards for how beautiful it looks
The CGI is high quality, the costumes are perfect, Villeneuve’s vision is maintained and developed.
