Story
The film was originally intended to be about a boy who is separated from his father during World War II. The boy discovers the island of Sodor, where he meets Thomas the Tank Engine and sets out to find his father. It was originally intended to be the second feature-length film in the series (after 2000’s Thomas and the Magic Railway) and was scheduled to be released in 2010. Due to numerous production issues, the film’s release was continually delayed until it was finally cancelled in 2015, when HIT Entertainment went bankrupt and sold its rights to the film to Mattel.
